250g butter or margarine
1 level cup golden syrup
2 level cups sugar
6 tsp ginger powder
1 eggs
3 ½ – 4 cups cake flour
2 ½ tsp baking powder
2 ½ tsp bicarbonate soda
Method:
Mix butter and sugar in electric mixer till smooth, beat in the egg and Golden syrup then fold in the rest of the ingredients to make a soft dough. Make balls, place 5cm apart on dusted baking tray, place on middle rack in oven and bake at 170C for 8 – 10 min until brown, leave to cool on baking tray.
