200g butter
1 ¾ cup sugar
200ml golden syrup
1 egg
2 tsp cinnamon powder
4 tsp ground dry ginger
½ tsp cloves
500g self rising flour
100g cake flour
2 ¼ tsp bicarbonate of soda
Method:
Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and beat well. Add the golden syrup and sift in the dry ingredients. Mix well to form a soft dough . Roll into small balls and flatten slightly. Dip the top of each biscuit into a bowl of sugar Place well apart onto greased oven tray and bake in a moderate oven until well browned.
