1 cup Tastic rice – soaked in water for ½ an hour
3 tblsp ghee
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 pieces of cinnamon
2 whole elachi
½ tsp saffron
METHOD
1.Boil rice with a pinch of turmeric/arad till well cooked. Drain in colander
2.Prepare syrup with water, sugar and saffron.
3.Braise the cinnamon sticks, elachi in ghee.
4.Now add the syrup to pot and add the rice.
5.Toss and turn lightly till rice is coated in syrup.
6.Allow to cook very slowly till moisture evaporates and rice is left shiny.
