500g potatoes
250g margarine
1 pkt instant yeast
8 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp fine naartjie peel
1 Tbsp ground elachi
½ tsp ground ginger
½ tsp ground cinnamon
4 eggs
2 cups lukewarm milk
Boil potatoes and mash with margarine
Mix all dry ingredients.
Add mashed potatoes, beaten egg, and milk to make a soft pliable dough.
Leave to rise until double in size.
Shaped as desired.
Fry in deep oil on medium heat. Dip in syrup.
