[LISTEN] Parliament becomes the scene of chaos once again.

Parliament was the scene of chaos once again during the debate on the State of the Nation Address on Tuesday. To no surprise the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) were at the helm of the disturbances again.

This time around, EFF leader Julius Malema accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of abusing his late wife, Nomazizi. This came after ANC MP Boy Mamabolo initially asked Malema if he was abusing his wife. Malema denied the accusation made by Mamabolo and turned the spotlight on Ramaphosa.

The EFF leader was then thrown out of the House before he could reveal the names of three other ANC leaders that he claimed were also abusing their wives.

Speaking to Radio Islam, Political analyst Nteboheleng Tsehla says that politicians using Gender based violence as a political tactic is disgusting.

“In a country that has such high numbers of Gender Based Violence, to see political figures using Gender Based violence as a weapon is one of the saddest and most disgusting things we can see as a country.”

She added that Malema may have used the irrational comments to defend himself.

Opposition parties have since requested that rules be tightened to stop the House from being brought into disgrace.
