½ chicken cut up
2 onions grated
1 tsp ginger
½ tsp ginger
½ tsp garlic
2 tsp salt
¾ tsp pepper
1 ½ tsp green chillies
2 sticks taj, some cloves, elachi, peppercorns
1 Tbsp green dhania chutney
1 cup sour milk
½ cup barley
1 large tomato grated
2 Tbsp ghee
Method:
Wash and drain chicken. Braise onions in ghee until soft. Add chicken with spices and taj, cloves, elachi. Braise well. Add 5 cups water and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Braise barley in 2 Tbsp ghee. Add to chicken. Cook for about 45 min. Beat together sour milk and chutney and add to pot. Cook for another 10 min.
