BASIC SWEET YEAST DOUGH
IDEAL FOR DOUGHNUTS ETC..
INGREDIENTS
360g cake flour
5ml salt
60 ml sugar
60 g margarine
10 g instant ACTIVE DRY YEAST
1 large egg beaten
145 ml luke warm water
METHOD
Mix all the dry ingredients
Rub in the margarine
Add instant dry active yeast
Add beaten egg
Add enough lukewarm water to form a soft dough
Knead dough until smooth
Leave dough to rise
BASIC YEAST DOUGH RECIPE
IDEAL FOR BUNS ,ROLLS AND BREADS
INGREDIENTS
360g flour
5ml salt and 5ml sugar
60g margarine
10 g instant yeast
Approximately 150ml luke warm water
Mix all dry ingredients
Rub in margarine..
Add yeast
METHOD
Add enough luke warm water to form a soft dough
Knead until elastic and smooth
Cover lightly and let dough rise for 10 minutes
Knock down, shape and second rise
Glaze with egg and milk and poppy seeds
CALZONES
4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1tab mix herbs
125gr butter
1pkt yeast
3 tblsp sugar
Add all the above ingredients in a dish
½ cup milk. ½ cup boiling water, 1 egg, small tin nestle cream mix these 4 ingredients together and add to flour mixture to form soft dough
Leave to rise
Once risen punch down and form into small balls and rollout like a saucer size
Put in filling of choice..
Seal and bake..
Can be frozen once baked or made fresh.
