A selection of breakfast and tea time treats (27.11.14)

DOUGHNUTS
2 eggs
½  cup melted butter
1 cup sour milk
1 cup castor sugar
Then add:
4 tsp baking.powder
1 tsp nutmeg
Pinch of salt
Less than ¼ tsp bicarb
Flour to make soft dough +- 3 to 4 cups
Roll,cut n fry in hot oil .
Syrup
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
Boil until it gets abit sticky
Dip in hot syrup n dip in coconut .  
PANDELA
3 carrots grated
1 onion grated
1 cucumber grated
1 tsp saumf
1 tsp dhana jeero
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp rough dhana
Whole jeero
Green masala
¾  cup chana flour
¼  cup rice flour
1 ½  cups cake flour
1 tsp baking powder
Before making on tawa add baking powder

SPICY SAUSAGE ROLLS
10 spicy sausages
2 tblspn oil
¼  cup water
2 tblspn red chutney
1 tblspn mayonnaise
½  kg ready made bread dough that can be bought from the bakery OR you can make up your own yeast dough
2 egg yolks
Sesame seeds
•    
Heat oil n fry sausages remove from heat n place on a paper towel.
•    combine red chutney n mayonnaise,coat each sausage lightly with red chutney mix.
•    Divide dough into two.
•    Roll out one ball into a square shape n cut into strips .Roll 1
strip ,like a bandage around the sausage.
•    Place on a grease tray,brush with  egg yolk n sprinkle sesame seeds over rolls.
•    Bake in a pre-heated oven 200 degrees until light gold .

SAVOURY MUFFINS
1egg
1 small tin creamstyle sweetcorn
1 ½ cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tsps ground jeero
¾ cup milk
¾ cup oil
3 tsp green masala
Green dhania cut up
Mix all the ingredients together, spray muffins pans and bake
Variations:cut up cooked chicken pieces can be added..
Cubed peppers with polony can be added..

PROCESSED CHICKEN FRITTERS
Magimix together :
1 cup white meat
3 slices bread
2 eggs
½  cup milk
Jeeru
Salt
Green masala

Make fritters on tawa when done toss in lemon butter sauce n serve

SAVOURY POTATOE SLICES
Mix 1lb mashed potatoes with 2 tbl spoons flour,2 tbl spoons parsley and season with salt and pepper. Heat a little butter in a frying pan,pop in the potato mixture and smooth it over so that it covers the pan. Let it cook gently for about 5-7 minutes,when it should be lightly brown underneath. Turn it with a slice and brown the other side. Cut into 4 in the pan and serve as wedges.
NON FLOP SCONES RECIPE
Ingredients
3 cups flour
1 cup icing sugar
6 tsp baking powder
¼ lb butter
1 cup sour milk
1 egg.

Method
 preheat oven on 220 degress. mix together flour, icing sugar , baking powder and butter into magimix or baking machine . mix together sour milk and egg and add to above mixture. make into a soft dough then roll and cut into desired shapes. brush egg on scones and reduce oven to 200 degress. thereafter bake scones until done.
