½ Kg tomatoes (cut into rounds)
2 Cups rice
1 Onion sliced
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
½ tblsp whole garam masala (all spices)
½ cup oil

In three tblsp. Oil fry the sliced onions, ginger, and garlic paste, all spices and the mutton together till the onions are transparent. Add water and cook till the mutton is tender. Then take out the mutton from stock. Reserve stock to cook rice in it.
Wash and soak the rice in water for one hour. Fry the brinjals brown in remaining oil. Then in a deep non – stick pot, make the layers of brinjals, mutton and tomatoes. Then spread the soaked rice evenly on top of the layers. Add just enough mutton stock to cook the rice in it. Cook on slow fire till the rice is tender and dry. Then turn out in a round greased serving dish so that the vegetables and mutton layers are on top.

1 cup yoghurt (sour milk)
1 small cucumber
1 small bunch coriander leaves
2 green chillies
1 tsp garlic paste
