Basic white rice

Ingredients
8 Cups Boiling water
6 tsps salt (to taste)
1 tsps cumin seeds
3 cups Basmati Rice ..washed
3 tblsps ghee
½ cup water

Method

  1. Place the water salt and cumin in a pot and place over heat until it begins to boil rapidly.
  2. Add the rice and allow to boil for 10 minutes or until rice is half cooked. Drain at once. Pour a jug of cold water over the rice.
  3. Place the 3tblsps of oil in a separate pot throw the partially cooked rice in as well as the water.
  4. Seal tightly with the lid and place over high heat for 10 minutes or until rice begins to steam well.
  5. Reduce heat and cook on low for 30/40 minutes or until cooked completely
