Ingredients
8 Cups Boiling water
6 tsps salt (to taste)
1 tsps cumin seeds
3 cups Basmati Rice ..washed
3 tblsps ghee
½ cup water
Method
- Place the water salt and cumin in a pot and place over heat until it begins to boil rapidly.
- Add the rice and allow to boil for 10 minutes or until rice is half cooked. Drain at once. Pour a jug of cold water over the rice.
- Place the 3tblsps of oil in a separate pot throw the partially cooked rice in as well as the water.
- Seal tightly with the lid and place over high heat for 10 minutes or until rice begins to steam well.
- Reduce heat and cook on low for 30/40 minutes or until cooked completely
