Joint Pain and Arthritis are the one of the most devastating conditions faced by individuals, particularly elderly women today. Here are a few natural remedies for relief from joint pain or Arthritis .

• Drinking ginger tea at bed time is particularly recommended for Rheumatoid Arthritis.

• Studies reveal that a vegetarian diet is beneficial in eliminating joint pain and Arthritis to a great extent.

• Drinking Black Cherry juice (diluted with water) at least twice a day has been proven beneficial for relief from Arthritis.

• Gentle massage with oils help in pain relief. Aa little vegetable oil or massage oil can be massaged with finger tips on the affected joint (avoid directly massaging the joint, instead massage just below or above the area) for five minutes daily.

• Turmeric, a member of ginger family, has great medicinal properties and heals inflammation and mild joint pain. Ayurvedic experts are of the opinion that turmeric reduces joint pain to a great extent.

• Feverfew capsules taken once or twice a day helps due to its anti-inflammatory effect.

• Turmeric and ginger being anti-inflammatory herbs are considered as effective in pain relief.

• Regular stretching exercises are also beneficial.

• For joint pain that is not associated with Arthritis, stretching exercises, warm bath massages and rest are recommended.

OTHER ARTHRITIS REMEDIES.
Warm coconut oil or mustard oil, mixed with two or three pieces of camphor should be massaged on stiff and aching joints. It will increase blood supply, and reduce inflammation and stiffness with the gentle warmth produced while massaging. Camphorated oil is an ancient rubefacient used for the purpose.

A well known remedy that works well is to mix the following mixture:

1 bottle mustard oil
1 bottle Vicks.

Empty both mustard oil and Vicks into a pot and and mix on a low until the Vicks has melted into the mustard oil. Bottle and rub whenever you have pain.
