Remedies using coriander – dhania

Coriander powder and its leaves are readily used in Indian kitchen but very few women knows that it is used in curing of many disease as well
Coriander holds a prominent position in the Indian kitchen. Coriander leaves are used to garnish various lentils and curry preparations. Coriander seeds, too, flavor many an Indian recipe with their richness.

But beyond delighting our senses, coriander also possesses numerous therapeutic properties….
•    Coriander’s anti-inflammatory properties are used in treating arthritis. Here’s a remedy you can use to get relief from the ailment. Boil ground coriander seeds with water and drink the concoction.
•   Inflammation and swelling on body-Take equal quantity of vinegar, coriander powder, make a paste and apply it on any affected body part. This will help in easing out inflammation and will reduce swelling as well.
• Nose bleeding -Applying green coriander leaves paste on the head helps in stopping nose bleeding.
• Throat pain: Few seeds of coriander and few seeds of black pepper chewed frequently will alleviate throat pain
• Cough: 50 grams of ground coriander seed mixed with 100 grams of honey is an excellent cough suppressant.
•  High-blood pressure:  Soak one tablespoon of coarsely ground coriander seeds in a cup of filtered water overnight. Filter out the seeds the next morning. To this add a spoonful of mishri (sugar candy) powder and drink it early in the morning.
•  Urinary infection: Soak coarse coriander powder in boiled and cooled water overnight. Filter before drinking in the morning.
