Savoury and sweet recipe with eggs (12.10.17)

 

PANCAKES

4 eggs
2 cups flour
4 tbls sugar
½ tsp salt
2 cups milk
1¼ cup water elachie

Blend altogether

WAFFLES
Ingredients
2 eggs
1 ½ tablespoon sugar
2 cups flour
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
4 tablespoon melted butter ½ teaspoon vanilla

Method
Sift dry ingredients
Add beaten egg yolk to the milk and mix with the dry ingredients
Mix well and add melted butter
Lastly whip egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture

Enjoy

 

SCOTCH EGGS FRIED
6 eggs boiled and shelled
Cake flour
2 cups lamb, mutton or chicken mince
¼ cup breadcrumbs
2 tsp salt or to taste
1 tsp fine black pepper
1 tsp ground dhania
1 tsp jeero
Green chilies to taste
1 tblsp crushed garlic
1 tblsp ground almonds
1 tblsp cake flour
1 tblsp lemon juice
1 tblsp chopped dhania
Beaten egg, breadcrumbs
METHOD
• Combine all the ingredients from the mince to the dhania together in a dish, mix well
• Toss eggs in flour, shake off excess flour.
• Divide mixture into 6 portions. Shape each portion around each egg, using lightly floured hands
• Dip in beaten egg then into breadcrumbs
• Deep fry eggs in hot oil until well browned, drain on absorbent paper.
• Cut eggs in half and serve

SAVOURY FRENCH TOASTS

WHITE BREAD SLICED
4 large eggs
1 tsp salt or to taste
1 tsp fine red chillies
1 tsp jeero /optional
1 tsp ground dhania
Green chillies to taste
½ tsp crushed garlic
2 tblsps freshly chopped greens
½ tsp baking powder
METHOD
• Combine all the ingredients together in a dish and beat or whisk until well blended
• Quarter the slices of bread or cut into shapes
• Dip each slice into the egg mixture and shallow fry over medium heat using a non stick pan until golden brown on both sides
