Healthy recipes for Ramadan (11.06.15)

Gluten Free Haleem

1 cup green split peas soaked overnight
1 cup pink lentils
¾ cup magh dhal

Its better to soak dhals, beans & lentils for a time before cooking. Soak a few hours n put to boil with a tsp rough sea salt.
In another pot braise 2 sliced onions in ghee until its pinkish.
Add chicken or beef with bones.
2 T ginger Garlic, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar n cook well. Add tomato & spices of choice.
Salt, chillies, turmeric, ground coriander/ ground cumin, [I prefer using biryani masala instead of coriander/cumin for Haleem, recipe in savoury journey express.]

SALAD DRESSING
1 full tsp ground garlic, 1 tsp. Pink fine salt, 1 Tblsp. Lemon juice, 1 Tblsp grape or apple cider vinegar, 1 Tblsp. Honey, ¼ tsp. Black pepper,
1 cup olive oil. Combine all together and stir well.

MINERAL-RICH BONE BROTH
Heals leaky gut, food intolerances, allergies, joint health, boost immune system, reduces cellulite, improves metabolism & muscle building. Some of the nutrients include calcium, phosphorus, silicon, collagen, glucosamine, and chondroitin sulfate, and essential amino acids proline, glycine, and glutamine.

Wash marrow beef bones or Trotters or skull well or whatever bones you have.
Put in pressure pot if u have & Top with water. Let it boil. Remove scum. Put 2 T apple cider vinegar & close pot. I leave it on no 2 to cook 2 to 3 hours. Strain when cool. If the bones crumble when you try to break, then you know it has leached out all vitamins. When cold, it will be thick like jelly. Pour into small containers n freeze. I use it for gravy in curries or soups or dhals/Haleems. Try drinking it as a nourishing tea adding pink Himalayan sea salt .

3 T honey
6 T coconut oil
5 dates
2 tsp chia
1 T goji berries
12 pecans
15 peeled almonds
