1kg mutton mince
1 large onion finely chopped
1 Tbsp garlic and ginger paste
½ cup fresh bread crumbs
2 Tbsp tomato puree
2 tsp mixed dried herbs
1 Tbsp hot English mustard
½ cup chopped parsley
1 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
2 tsp salt
2 eggs
· Preheat oven to 180 degrees
· Combine the mince with other ingredients in a mixing bowl.
· Mix well with a wooden spoon.
· Spoon the mixture into a loaf pan
· Level off with the back of a spoon or spatula
· Bake for 1 hour
· Remove from oven
· Pour off excess accumulated juices
· Wrap in foil until ready to serve.
Variations:
Add 1 cup mash potatoes to mixture before baking.
Replace mustard and parsley with 1 tsp crushed chillies and fresh chopped mint and coriander
