Ingredients
500gr rump steak, finely cubed
1 tsp ghee
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp fresh red chillies
1 tsp salt
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp steak & chops spice
½ tsp lemon pepper
3 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp mustard sauce
1 tbsp chilli sauce
1 tbsp mayonnaise
2 tomatoes, liquidized
2 med potatoes cut into small cubes
Puff pastry
2 egg yolks
Tip:
Alternatively one can add cheese and red chutney for a cheesy flavour.
Method:
Cook on high heat for 5 minutes, reduce heat and cook on low until tender.
Boil potatoes until cooked.
Combine steak and potatoes.
Grease a rectangular oven proof dish.
Roll out pastry to fit the base and sides of dish.
Spoon cooked steak and potato mixture over pastry.
Roll out more pastry and cut a rectangle to fit the top of the pie.
Place pastry over filling and press sides down with your thumb.
Brush with egg yolks.
Take a sharp knife and cut squares deep into the pastry.
Sprinkle sesame seeds and bake in a pre heated oven of 180 degree until golden brown.
